Why Paleo?

The truth is, I don’t feel worse for the wear eating gluten or grains. I have no issues digesting dairy (though my skin is definitely better without it in my life) and MSG doesn’t do anything to me either. A grilled cheese sandwich with ranch dressing made from unpronouncable ingredients? Om to the nom! Orange chicken from Panda Express? I could eat platefuls of that stuff. Sour coke gummies? My utter and complete weakness.

I can’t say eating paleo has made me lose weight (it hasn’t) or given me that burst of life-changing energy everyone talks about.

The part of eating paleo that makes me feel good is knowing that I’m doing something good for myself.

At the end of the day, I just feel like if I’m going to eat a given amount of food every day, it should be the most nutritionally dense food available. That comes not from bread and pasta and processed chemical-laden stuff, but meat, veggies, and good fats that don’t need ingredient labels.

Plus, the multitude of recipes out there created by talented food bloggers taste so freaking good and have exposed me to all sorts of new foods I never would have tried in the past. So, that’s why.
